Solution

As just one of the more than 30 projects the Vector TalentMEDIA team manages for the World Bank in a typical year, the team was asked to design, edit, and produce the book Making Sense of Financial Capability Surveys around the World. The Financial Inclusion and Infrastructure Global Practice Group was looking for a dynamic way to present comparative financial data. The team designed a book that engaged readers with robust graphics and a visually appealing layout, while maintaining the structure and technicality of the content expected by an audience of economic experts. Three preliminary designs of the interior and cover were created after discussions with the client, research through the extensive World Bank photo library, and a review of the content.

While the design was being finalized, TalentMEDIA ’s editorial team substantively edited the text, improving readability and ensuring adherence to the World Bank’s strict style guide. Then TalentMEDIA’s production team laid out the text in the Adobe InDesign template they had created and redrew charts and graphs in Adobe Illustrator. Final design changes were made, including last-minute photo replacements, and TalentMEDIA delivered, on time and on budget, print-ready files and a bookmarked PDF for posting online.
